How does the order process work?
Step 1: Personalized Design Consultation
When you send us an inquiry for your custom tatami mat floor, we start working with you. We will make sure to understanding your needs and will start creating a tailored design. Every room is unique, and we take the time to understand your layout, preferences, and intended use.
Step 2: Send a Quote for your Approval
We prepare a detailed quote for your floor layout, this price will be fixed for a 7 day period.
Step 3: Drawing for production and final Approval
After you agreed on the quote and provided payment, the actual work will start. Using the measurements you provide, we create a high-quality CAD drawing of your tatami mat layout. This detailed technical drawing will be used during the production phase, we use a tollerance of +-0.5cm
Before production begins, the CAD design is sent to you for final verification, giving you complete confidence that the dimensions and layout are correct.

Step 5: Production, Timeline & Shipment to Your Home
Once your custom tatami mat design is fully approved, we move quickly into production. Thanks to our streamlined process and experienced craftsmanship, manufacturing takes approximately two weeks.
After production is complete, your tatami mats are carefully packaged and prepared for international delivery. Shipping to your home typically takes about one and a half month, depending on your location and customs processing.

How to care for my tatami floor?
Clean the tatami mats regularly by sweeping or vacuuming moving in the direction of the weave. Avoid using a spinning vacuum since it can fray the rush grass.
If you live in a humid climate, we recommend keeping your house air conditioned. Heat in the winter, cool in the summer. You want to lift your tatamis a couple times a year to give them a chance to vent. This is the perfect time for you to clean underneath the mats. Tatamis do breath by nature, so risk of mold is small.

Our materials are carefully selected and only the highest quality of rush grass is used.
Our Rice straw is carefully dried at 85 degree Celsius for 72 hours.
